POSITION TYPE: Seasonal part time
STARTING PAY: $15
SUPERVISORY: No SUPERVISED BY: Chef
POSITION SUMMARY: Produces specified amount of prep for salads, desserts, apps and all other food required to successfully run menu. Will be presentable (clean appearance and clean chef coat) when stocking prep in public areas where guests are present.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for food preparation, presentation, and storage. Work in close liaison with chef. Duties include food handling, storage, rotation, processing and presentation. Expected to work quickly and efficiently independently and as a team player. May be required to do dishes. Possible baking of breads, desserts and food for the coffee shops. Other duties as assigned including but not limited to deep cleaning.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Combined standing/walking position for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs occasionally. Will bend, squat, kneel climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level on a frequent basis; will use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. Worksite is 100% inside and may be exposed to fumes, odors, mechanical and burn hazards. All sensory skills needed.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be willing to obtain extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities, services and activities. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and the position is not necessarily limited to these items.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
SKILLS: Food preparation expertise.
EDUCATION: English reading, writing and communication, basic math
EXPERIENCE: Preferred experience in safe handling of food, dessert and salad
LICENSE NEEDED: None
MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Ovens, processors, basic kitchen tools-knives.
JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: Moderately High
