SUPERVISORY: NO SUPERVISED BY: Sky House FOH Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: To provide the highest quality of service to guests in accordance with company policies and objectives, to strive toward guest satisfaction, positive employee relations, and profitability by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: WORK ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN! To provide the highest quality of service to guests in accordance with company policies and objectives, to strive toward guest satisfaction, positive employee relations, and profitability. The bartender is one of the primary contact the guests has during their experience at the Sky House. The bartender is also the primary salesperson therefore, thorough knowledge of our menus is critical. You are responsible for ringing in orders, handling payment, and seeing to the needs of our guests. Maintains positive, upbeat, and energetic attitude toward guests and coworkers. Assists others whenever able. Will follow recipes and pour correct units for all beer, wine, liquor, and N/A beverages. Will stock and prepare bar for daily service. Takes a proactive approach to teamwork.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Skiing or snowboarding. Open bar, count till, open lock ups, and thoroughly perform setup and prep work. Responsible to inventory/stock product, change/move kegs, mix drinks, follow recipes, and provide a high level of guest service and entertainment. Responsible to ensure minimal waste by correct pour of all drinks, ID guests in accordance with Idaho State liquor and identification laws, monitor guest intoxication and take action/get help, if necessary. May bartend for group events and weddings. Close bar, thoroughly perform closing/cleaning duties, prepare end of shift reports, and turns in accurate deposits to accounting, lock up product and area. Must pay attention to detail and help keep bar/restaurant presentable. Must be capable of managing and performing multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsible to greet guests in the absence of the host/hostess. Must have clean appearance according to Sky House and Schweitzer dress code. Typical shift is 8:30am-4pm and must have open availability.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and are not limited to these items.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
SKILLS: Cash handling, multi-tasking
EDUCATION: Bar drink and food knowledge; English reading, writing, and communication; basic math; knowledge of Idaho State Liquor and identification laws
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence; wine knowledge preferred
LICENSE NEEDED: None
MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Squirrel POS
JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: Moderate to high
