Performs a variety of clerical duties of a routine and recurring nature, including typing, filing, simple posting, and preparation of standard forms. Individuals assigned to this position will normally perform the routine and repetitive clerical duties independently. Requires basic knowledge of modern clerical practices including medical office procedures and guidelines. Responsible for scheduling and registration of patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays and co-insurance fees, answering phones, in-coming referrals and coordinating medical records. Maintain lines of communication between physician, staff, patients and nursing.

Requires knowledge of the field of assignment sufficient to perform thoroughly and accurately the full scopeof responsibility as illustrated by example in the above job description.
Requires basic knowledge of English composition, use of typewriter at approximately 45 wpm minimum,ability to work with numbers accurately, ability to understand verbal instructions, typically acquired in fouryears of high school with general business curriculum.
Requires basic knowledge of computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft, Excel and EMR.
