What you’ll be doing
- Working with clients. We’re looking for someone who can work with current and potential clients to make their projects a reality and communities a better place for all of us. You’ll help ensure expectations align with project work and that SCJ is providing uncompromising client services.
- Initiating and maintaining client relationships. Your role will include business development, setting and managing client expectations, reviewing options when challenges arise, facilitating client meetings, and, in general, fostering client loyalty.
- Establishing and managing project objectives, scopes, budgets, work plans, and performance expectations. You’ll have the responsibility and resources to identify needs and make assignments. You’ll manage workload, staffing, and forecasting for the team, including coordinating workload balancing/sharing with other offices.
- Providing QA/QC and peer review. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure deliverables are accurate, thorough, and meet expectations.
- Managing financial aspects of contracts, including with sub-contractors, to protect SCJ’s interests and simultaneously maintain good relationships with
- Managing team development. Challenging others to grow their technical and leadership skills, motivating the team to work collaboratively, and serving as a role model and mentor.
- Growing as a professional. You’ll get to expand your experience by doing a variety of work including managing design and plan production, overseeing and mentoring technical staff, and participating in project proposal development, project interviews, and presentations.

What you bring
- A passion for serving others, great communication skills, creativity, and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, planners, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the consulting industry or related supervisory and management experience.
- A PE license and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.

Salary : $121,000 - $154,000
