Scott Agency, Inc. is looking to expand our insurance office in Mexico, Missouri. Company:
This position is with our Melahn Insurance Agency office in Mexico, Missouri. We are actively working to grow the agency and are looking for someone ready to help with that growth. We are very active in the Missouri Association of Independent Agents, and our state Big I association. We believe highly in supporting our local communities through charitable donations, volunteering, and participating in various activities.

Position:
This account executive position pays a strong initial base salary of 40-80,000 annually, and well above market average commissions of up to 50%; earning potential is unlimited and controlled only by the candidate's ability to successfully sell general insurance products (personal/commercial P&C, personal/commercial Health & Benefits, Life, and Bonds) or in a specific niche.
Primary Expectations:
- Successful candidates will be 80/20% in the field vs. in the office
- Willing to travel and/or use alternative methods (video, social, etc.) to build their sales pipeline in the Mexico/Columbia market and throughout Missouri
- Work cooperatively as part of a team
- Continue to provide exemplary service after the initial sale as the primary customer contact
- Maintain cordial and effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts.
- Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
- Work closely with account managers to maintain customer base and build new relationships
Additional Expectations:
- Set 10 to 12 New Client Appointments per Month
- Meet Cold Calling Goals of 150 per Month
- Develop a Niche Industry (To call on businesses in that industry; Learn the insurance needs of that industry)
- Establish 3 to 5 Centers of Influence to help drive leads/mentorship/community involvement
- Become a member in good standing of at least one community/industry organization
Knowledge and Skills:
- College degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
- Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
- Property/Casualty and Life/Health Agents License required. (Must be obtained within 45 days of hire if not already licensed.)
- Familiarity with computer and word processing programs and email required.
