We are looking for a Director of HR who will have a high level of accountability and will report to the Vice President of Finance. The goal is to promote the role of a strategic People Team and ensure the long-term success of the People team and the organization.

What you’ll do…
- Work as a Player / Coach: Execute HR and people responsibilities while managing people and processes.
- Align the People team with company goals, values, and performance.
- Provide leadership for the People Team (People & Culture Manager & Talent Acquisition Manager), driving team and process excellence by developing strategies and solutions that are scalable and appropriate for a startup growth environment.
- Own and execute HR processes: Oversee, develop, recommend, improve, and implement HR plans and policies covering all HR disciplines (recruitment, training, compensation/benefits, career development, performance management, engagement, etc).
- Have Hands-on management of employee relations, improving engagement and retention.
- Partner with finance to both develop and manage the HR budget, headcount planning, ad hoc payroll processing, etc.
- Develop strong relationships with department leadership (including C-Suite) through clear communication, appropriate escalation of issues, and proactive problem-solving.
- Partner with internal and outside legal counsel to resolve complex employment-related issues.
- Recruit top talent with aligned values to Screencastify.
- Make Screencastify a better place to work by being inspiring, inclusive, and motivating.
- Maintain a highly visible profile to employees and maintain an open environment for concerns and suggestions.
- Manage office to create a comfortable and high-performing work environment for the team.
You’re perfect for this role if…
- You have at least 8 years of progressive HR generalist experience
- Have at least 2 years of direct people management
- Have exposure working with executive leadership
- Have excellent people management skills and demonstrated high emotional intelligence
- Come from a startup and/or have tech experience (SaaS preferred)
- Have prior experience in recruiting or leading a high-performing recruiting team
- Are flexible and agile approach to work; ability to adapt to ambiguity in a frequently changing, fast-paced environment
- Have strong and detail-oriented written and verbal communication skills
- Are proficient with HR systems and applications
- Have payroll and benefits administration knowledge
- Have the ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change the course of action quickly
