What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service/Pharmacy Technician position at Script Care LTD?
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Customer Service – Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating patients’ treatment plans, educate them on their condition, connect them with healthcare providers, and evaluate their progress. This position will work closely with members of the department to assist, address and resolve any barriers patients face. The Patient Care Coordinator will report directly to the Clinical Pharmacist – Staff.
KEY TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other applicable parties
- Collect patient health information and clinical data & enter in pharmacy software
- Verify information on the prescription for completeness and accuracy
- Coordinate refills of patient prescriptions & verify process in the pharmacy software
- Initiate and receive prescription refill authorizations from prescribers
- Communicate with patients to provide status updates on their prescription orders
- Provide patients with requested prescription documentation
- Work to resolve third party rejections and insurance issues
- Assist in the appropriate record-keeping processes of the pharmacy
- Recognize when patients need assistance from a Pharmacist and create interventions or triage the calls appropriately
- Work collaboratively with other members of Script Care, Ltd., the Clinical Programs, and the pharmacy to ensure adequate and timely patient care
- Monitor receipt of shipment of medications and follow-up on any issues that may arise
- Facilitate communications with prescribers to verify interventions when instructed by a Pharmacist
- Stays current on available assistance programs and assists patients with finding copay assistance/patient assistance programs
- Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal and HIPPA laws and guidelines regarding patient information
- Assist with various tasks, projects and requests of the department as needed
- Abide by all rules, regulations and policies set forth by Prescription Mart
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid licensure as a Registered Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee in Texas
- Satisfaction of state continuing education requirements; 20 hours every 24 months

- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and industry related software platforms
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $23.00 per hour
