Patient Account Representative and Billing Specialist
In office position with a busy and successful OBGYN practice located in Elkhart, IN. We are currently seeking an experienced full time Patient Account Representative and Billing Specialist. Previous experience with OBGYN is preferred.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare billing
- Knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT codes
- Must have strong billing, analytical, computer, and communication skills
- Run monthly reports and daily trial balances
- Reviewing medical procedures as documented by doctors
- Knowledge of insurance verification, pre-certs, payment authorization, and resolution of unpaid claims
- Translating medical procedures into codes that can be translated by payers, other medical coders, and other medical facilities
- Codes and posts all charges and receipts for all payers including Medicare, Medicaid.
- Transmitting coded patient treatment information to payers and other recipients
- Coordinating insurance reimbursement of care providers
- Handling patient billing
- Meets and financially counsels all new prelim-ob and surgery patients and sets up budget plans for the patient's responsible portion
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently
- Warm, friendly and outgoing personality
- Ability to work well under pressure
