We are looking for a PRN Registered Dietitian to join our food service department! Santa Cruz Valley Regional Hospital is located in BEAUTIFUL Green Valley, AZ. (25 miles south of Tucson). Pay Range: up to $32.50 per hour

Position Summary:
Performs activities related to medical nutrition therapy across the lifespan and participates in activities related to quality monitoring and improvement. Delivers safe and competent care. Identifies and responds to advanced clinical issues, recommends change, mentors and demonstrates professional advancement through evidence based practice and research.

MAJOR DUTIES (*Essential Functions):
- Performs activities related to medical nutrition therapy across the lifespan as outlined in practice standards.
- Completes nutrition assessments per practice guidelines for patients across the lifespan (i.e., infant to geriatric patient).
- Plans time appropriately in order to meet productivity standards established.
- Manages outpatient schedule and completes charge entry.
- Develops and maintains care plans and documents in the medical record inclusive of recommending medical nutrition therapy using age appropriate guidelines.
- Interviews and educates/counsels patients and family members for special nutritional needs.
- Communicates with referring physicians and/or other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Completes initial assessments and follow-up care of inpatients per policy.
- Conducts quality improvement audits and reports results per guidelines.
- Conducts medical record reviews/peer reviews and other section audits as assigned.
- Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives
- Provides education to support areas as needed to improve audit findings
- Participates in QI outcomes data collection and reporting

Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or nutritional science and registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible to take the Registered Dietitian (RD) exam and pass the exam within 6 months of hire.
- Three years’ experience as a Dietitian in a hospital setting.
