Position Description
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration, the Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the Company. The Controller will oversee the daily operation and supervision of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Essential Job Functions
1. Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company asset and ensure accurate financial reporting.
2. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Oversee the accounting operations of Company service centers, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
4. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
5. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
6. Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
7. Reports significant budget differences to management.
8. Manage cash flow, optimizing working capital and ensuring the organization has adequate liquidity to meet its obligations.
9. Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits.
10. Perform internal audits to verify procedures are being followed.
11. Conduct detailed financial analysis, interpreting data and trends to provide insights to senior management for strategic decision making.
12. Supervise accounting and finance teams, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team’s effectiveness and professional growth.
13. Work Closely with other departments such as sales, operations, and human resources to coordinated financial activities and provide financial expertise for cross-functional initiatives.
14. Continuously improve financial process, automating routine tasks where possible, to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
15. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
2. Seven years or more of related experience required.
3. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
4. Experience with all aspects of Accounting and needed controls as well as GAAP compliance and IRS laws & regulations.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel.
6. Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
