About our Role: We are looking to add an Embedded LOTO Safety Analyst to work within our electrical safety team to evaluate client equipment in industrial/manufacturing/laboratory environments, identify and document specific energy points, and deliver relevant Lockout Tagout (LOTO) & NFPA 70E training to our client’s personnel as needed. The position may require up to 25% travel but will primarily be local to the Bay Area to support one of our large customers in the area. As our Embedded LOTO Safety Analyst, you are responsible for:
- Evaluate client equipment in industrial/manufacturing environments to identify and document specific energy points that impact the maintenance and servicing of the client’s equipment.
- Ability to understand the process flow of the equipment.
- Ability to build and maintain positive work relationships with customer management and site personnel.
- Ability to present specialized electrical safety and LOTO instruction before groups of 20 or more adults in an enthusiastic, knowledgeable manner
- Ability to arrive to work on time and maintain a positive attendance record.
- Perform any other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualified LOTO Safety Analysts have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout processes and equipment
- Working knowledge of OSHA electrical safe work practices
- Working knowledge of LOTO regulations
- Knowledge of the various types of energy sources that impact industrial equipment (electrical, pneumatic, gravity, chemical, etc.)
- Possess strong computer skills in current software platforms and the ability to work with mobile devices, such as tablets
- Ability to learn new software programs/field software
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to function independently and manage tasks without constant oversight
- Ability to operate a lift and climb a ladder
- Possess a professional and personable demeanor who is not afraid to start conversations and take the initiative to determine the next steps in a project
Successful LOTO Safety Analysts have the following education and experience:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Safety Science or related degree a plus
- Five plus (5 ) years of industrial experience
- Five plus (5 ) years of experience in providing classroom instruction to adults
- Prior experience with Arc Flash and Lockout/Tagout procedures is a plus
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) credential is preferred
- Trade school graduates with strong maintenance or electrical background will also be considered, as well as veterans that served in a military role in which they learned about and worked on mechanical systems.
As our Embedded LOTO Safety Analyst, you can expect the following physical demands:
- Ability to be on feet for up to 10 hours a day.
- Ability to walk down equipment in an industrial environment (concrete flooring) for up to 10 hours a day.
- Ability to climb ladders on equipment and work at heights of up to 50 feet.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to reach above your head and below your knees.
- Ability to crawl on hands and knees on rare occasions
- Ability and willingness to follow detailed and defined guidelines.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
