Job Posting for Food Preparation Worker at Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia
Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia Food Bank is hiring for our Kids Cafe team. This position is part of the kitchen team that prepares and packs up to 4,000 meals a day for our after-school and summer time program for low income kids. This is a full time position that will work 30 hours per week. Approximate schedule is Mon-Fri 6AM-2:30PM during the school year and 5AM-1:30PM during the summer. Some flexibility is required based on workload.
Prior food service experience is required and institutional cooking is preferred. You MUST have good customer service skills and a great personality! This position works with lots of volunteers and we will only hire people that are going to make the experience enjoyable for them.
The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must have command of professional communication and problem solving skills along with culinary math skills.
Pre-employment drug test is required. Employee must have reliable transportation.

This position has a $2 per hour premium which pays in addition to the base rate of $15 per hour. After the successful completion of a 90 day probationary period the base rate increases to $16 per hour plus the $2 per hour premium. Full benefits include medical and dental insurance, paid holidays and generous paid time off.
