Position Summary:
The Business Manager reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for performing the bookkeeping, office/administrative, and human resource functions for SECOR Cares, a faith-based, nonprofit free food market working to alleviate suburban poverty in Douglas, Arapahoe and Elbert Counties of Colorado.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resource responsibilities:
• Assist with recruitment and order background checks needed.
• Onboard new hires.
• Maintain compliant and confidential employee personnel files using best practices.
• Stay abreast of FLSA and Colorado labor laws; inform leadership of relevant changes.
• Recommend and maintain personnel policies and procedures.
• Maintain and update staff handbook and labor law posters.
• Enroll staff in on-line safety and required training, and completion track status.
• Report Worker’s Compensation illness/injury events to insurance carrier in accordance with established practices.
• Document offboarding for terminations and resignations.
Bookkeeping:
• Receive checks, cash donations, and incoming revenue, make weekly bank deposits, post account transactions in donor tracking software (Donor Perfect) and QuickBooks.
• Update donor pledge and automatic payment information as necessary.
• Prepare and send out invoices to vendors and mobile market partners as required.
• Prepare and send out year-end tax receipts to donors.
• Pay bills and invoices.
• Administer fuel and expense credit card accounts.
• Assist with financial audit as needed.
Office Duties:
• Maintain incoming donated food weights, complete data entry tasks, prepare reports as needed.
• Provide driver license and other information to insurance carrier; respond to requests for information from insurance carrier, serve as point of contact with carrier.
• Respond to general email inquiries to SECORCares.
• Retrieve mail.
• Order office supplies and postage.
• Track and maintain Key Cards, building keys.
• Track and maintain gift card inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
• Fully supports the faith-based mission of SECORCares.
• Associates degree or equivalent experience in accounting, bookkeeping, human resources and/or administrative support.
• Strong organizational skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Applications, QuickBooks and Donor Perfect software.
• Displays a positive attitude, shows concern and compassion for people, demonstrates trusted presence, self-confidence, and common sense.
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
