Security Equipment Inc. (SEi) is seeking a technology-oriented, goal-driven, independent thinker to perform the role of Sales Consultant in our Des Moines market. Qualified candidates will be self-starters looking to begin a career in sales and shall pose a passion to assist clients with their security needs. Successful candidates will be trained in all aspects of the security industry, including products and services, along with performing sales functions for new and existing customers.

Founded in 1969, SEi is an Integrated Security Services company specializing in a variety of residential and commercial intrusion and fire alarm systems throughout the Midwest. SEi also provides access control, video solutions, and other integrated services. With our U.L. listed Customer Care Center, we provide monitoring services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The work you will do here is both challenging and rewarding with opportunities to grow personally and professionally!

Applicants should have an interest in life safety and the security industry. A technical aptitude is a plus and some travel may be required. Qualified applicants should understand technical selling and be willing to support their customers with top-notch customer service.

Requirements include; but not limited to:

  • College graduate preferred
  • 2 years of previous sales experience
  • Outside sales experience a plus
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to create and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and vendors
  • Customer service focused and detail-oriented
  • Relationship builder, exhibiting professionalism at all times
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Internet, etc)
  • Mobile Proficiency is a must

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Communicates effectively in both oral and written communications. Communicates with supervisor, peers, subordinates, and other Company staff; working as part of a team contributing to company goals.
REASONING ABILITY: Job requires being careful about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw conclusions drawing upon experience, research, and input from peers. This position performs multiple job tasks on a daily basis.

COMPETITIVE WAGE:
** $40,000 - $100,000 ** Salary Commission pay structure
