Vantage Mid-America is looking for an experienced Sales Manager that will be responsible for selling Trimble Precision Agriculture products to agriculture machinery and equipment dealers in a multi-state territory.  The ideal candidate for this role has experience in both technical and sales roles and can effectively communicate the technical aspects of products and services to potential customers. As a sales manager, they will be responsible for growing revenue through managing existing and new dealer relationships, supporting dealer sales efforts, and building relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Responsible for delivering sales growth by promoting Trimble Agriculture products to existing and prospective dealers within the territory
  • Build and maximize the effectiveness of Trimble Agriculture dealers
  •  Develop territory, increase market penetration, and execute strategies to consistently exceed goals
  • Function as the principal relationship manager for our dealer channel
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with dealers and customers
  • Provide dealers with effective training, product awareness, and field assistance
  • Make sure customers are well satisfied with our products and services
  • Provide feedback from dealers for capturing the requirements of end-users
  • Provide first line of support for dealers in region escalate to Trimble as needed
  • Develop plan to establish and grow dealer sales and ensure they are under proper agreements
  • Forecast inventory needs and work with warehouse manager on inventory level management
  • Maintain accurate dealer contact information in CRM software
  • Meet sales targets for the assigned territory
  • Work requires 50-75% travel to meetings, dealer site visits, and trade shows

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture related field
  • 3 years selling Precision Agriculture products, Trimble experience preferred
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Manager to grow a multi-state territory
  • Experience working within the Ag equipment distribution channel
  • Experience with CRM systems and other sales tools.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and drive results
  • Ability to express, formulate, and present technical information or concepts with clarity and effectiveness
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills
  •  Ability to generate demand for Trimble Ag products and close prospective sales.
  • Experience using Trimble Agriculture product portfolio
