Job Description
Drives bus, minibus, or van to transport residents to and from scheduled group activities and individual resident appointments. He or she also assists ZEST Director by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates work habits that support the organization's Mission to create and maintain distinctive, service-enriched housing environments for Americas senior population. Supports the Community's programs to encourage resident independence, well being, and opportunity for personal growth. Initiates A.M. and P.M. checklist procedures. Assists ZEST Director in developing and carrying out activities calendar. Maintains a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty. Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality. Drives vehicle to designated locations. Assists passengers into and out of vehicle. Secures passengers' wheelchairs, walkers and other equipment to restraining devices to stabilize equipment during trip. Reminds passenger's to secure their seatbelts before driving away from The Community. Secures passengers' seat belts if they need assistance. Operates radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles. Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories. Informs ZEST Director when vehicle is in need of repair. Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers. Submits monthly reports relating to mileage, repairs, gasoline, supplies and usage.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must hold valid and applicable state drivers license and hold a clean driving record. Must submit current copy of Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Report. First Aid and CPR certified. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Coordinates use of vehicles with ZEST Director and Maintenance Director. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
