What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Development Engineer position at Sensus USA, Inc.?
Test Development Engineer, Sensus USA, Inc., Morrisville, NC. Provide support to test infrastructure and resolve any problem related to test equipment. Run product sustaining support through the analysis of test processes to improve test time and fix bugs. Develop the test software following the directions provided by designers and quality teams. Offer support to the Unix servers that conforms the base of the test infrastructure in the manufacturing site. Support the investigation of failures reported by customers that need further analysis and comprehension. Support the deployment of new test software versions. Design, implement and sustain Test and Diagnostic HW and SW platforms at lab and factory environments. Design, implement and maintain Test Specifications, schematics, BOMs or any documentation related to test platforms. Verify initial products design and identify testability. Maintain previously developed product code and hardware equipment, as required. Continuously refine and improve hardware, test programs, methods, and metrics to reduce product cost and increase test coverage and outgoing quality levels. Identify, analyze, and initiate corrective action when product design failures are uncovered by the test process. Analyze and quantify data to resolve process, test, and operational issues. Design engineering experiments. Create technical reports for customers. Manufacture test processes (Specify, Design, and document manufacturing test machines) and test products (Build, Implement, Qualify, and reproduce manufacturing test machines). Design and integrate different levels of HW and SW to test manufactured product to ensure assembly quality. Build different levels and complexities of manufacturing test machines such as Functional verification testers, Top assembly communication testers, Configuration testers, and Automated programmers. All this applied to the industry standard SMT/PCBA building/testing processes for the Radios and meters we design as the Xylem Company.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field, and five (5) years of post-bachelor, progressive, related work experience.
Must have five (5) years of experience with/in:
· Developing client-server applications to drive automated factory test equipment.
Must have three (3) years of experience with/in:
· Analyzing and debugging ASK and FSK radio communications; and
· Radio transceivers, receivers, and analyzers.
Up to 20% domestic and international travel required.
Telecommuting permitted up to three (3) days per week.
