The Engineering Supervisor will perform a wide variety of manual labor tasks, supervisory oversight and related duties as required. The nature of work requires sustained physical effort in performing assigned tasks. All job tasks must be performed in a manner that sustains the hotel’s for a safe and healthy work environment. Maintenance work includes preventative maintenance and routine repairs, heating and cooling, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems to all areas of the hotel according to Provenance Hotel’s standards. The Engineering Supervisor will work with the engineers and hotel staff to schedule routine operational maintenance requirements of the hotel.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Under the direction of the Complex Chief Engineer, the Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Engineering department. The Engineering Supervisor will also perform general maintenance work along with overseeing the engineering department to ensure hotel maintenance and quality standards are achieved and maintained. In the absence of the Complex Chief Engineer, the Supervisor will assume the administrative and operating aspects of the hotel for the Engineering department.

- Assist with the completion of preventive maintenance programs.
- Accountable for the appropriate use of time throughout the day for self and subordinates.
- Actively participate in energy conservation programs per hotel standards.

- Assist as necessary with special projects and renovations.
- Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets, in a safe and acceptable state of repair.
- Assist with the administration of all vendor contracts controlled by the Engineering Department hotel standards.

- Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
- Supervise employees in the Engineering Department and ensure they are properly trained in the customer service program, standard operating procedures and loss prevention standards.
- Responsible for prioritizing, scheduling and assigning maintenance requests
- Supervise necessary repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Implements the preventive maintenance program guidelines.
- Completes reports required by the Complex Chief Engineer.
- Notifies the Complex Chief Engineer of any supplies or parts necessary to complete the maintenance requests and/or projects.
- Maintains all storages and maintenance shops according to company standards.
- Maintains and safeguards all company tools and equipment.
- Participate in the hotel and departmental meeting and training programs required.
- Assists in the maintenance and operation of all the equipment on the property site and the building structure itself. This includes refrigeration and air conditioning, the fire alarm system, boilers, primary and secondary power systems, and emergency generators.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AVERAGE % OF TIME
- 25% Visually inspects the property every day and report all needs and deficiencies to the Complex Chief Engineer.
- 35% Check completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds. Verify completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and employee work areas.
- 10% Assist in training and supervision of department staff under direction of the Engineering Department, such as painters, upholsterers, and groundskeepers.
- 10% Adhere to all corporate-required purchasing policies and controls, including, but not limited to, all outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules. Follow prescribed safety procedures for personnel and equipment by the company and OSHA.
- 5% Work on and assist with special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel.
- 15% Inform the Chief Engineer/General Managers regarding condition of the building structure(s), related systems, and equipment offering prudent, cost effective proposals for maintaining these systems.
WORK SCHEDULES:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

- Prepare technical data, bidding, project work, alterations, and repairs for properties. Must have basic knowledge of building codes.
- Actively train in fire prevention, environmental health and safety and engineering systems. Attend all meetings regarding hotel operations, i.e., department, fire, safety, health and quality improvement.
- Conduct walk-around inspections as required.

- Must possess basic computational ability.
