 Job Description: 

Sequoia Services is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with expertise in project estimation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in water resource construction, dam repair and construction, coal combustion residual excavation/removal, landfill construction, structural concrete construction, as well as mining infrastructure and mine tailings management. This role will involve developing accurate cost estimates for various projects, ensuring financial feasibility, and optimizing resource allocation to meet project goals. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and manage detailed cost estimates for water resource and structural construction projects, including dam repair, landfill construction, coal combustion residual activities, mining infrastructure, and mine tailings management.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to assess project scope and identify cost components.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and related documents to prepare accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, material prices, and labor rates to inform estimates and improve competitiveness.
  • Prepare and present detailed estimate reports, including breakdowns and assumptions made during the estimation process.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards related to project estimation and mining operations.
  • Participate in project planning sessions, providing insights on cost implications and resource allocation.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, technologies, and trends related to civil engineering, mining infrastructure, and project estimation.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering and cost estimation with a focus on water resources, environmental, power, mining, and/or related heavy civil construction projects.
  • Proven experience in project estimation, cost analysis, and financial feasibility assessments.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards related to civil engineering and mining projects.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools including: InEight, HeavyBid, or similar software.
  • Proficiency with AutoCad, Agtek, or Trible Business Center.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
