Service Specialists recruiting agency is seeking a Human Resources for a food processing facility located in Hazlehurst, MS. This individual is responsible for the daily operations of the Human Resources Department for the plant. This position carries responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: employee relations, internal communication, compliance, records retention, payroll support, recruiting, employee engagement, and onboarding. Responsibilities:
Manages the daily operations of the Human Resources Department
Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Supports the Director of Human Resources with various corporate and company-wide projects and initiatives.
Performs all other duties as instructed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communication, or related field with at least 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred. Other combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification is highly desirable.
Must be able to maintain a high and relatable level of professionalism at all times.
Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in high pressure situations.
Must have excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to always maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
Strong conflict resolution and customer service skills are essential.
Has a solid understanding of Human Resource best practices, including employee benefits and payroll.
Has experience navigating and maintaining Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish is desirable.
Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office 365, Canva, HRIS and/or related software.
