Job Title: LPN Med/Surg

Location: Rochester - NY

Salary: $37/hour, $1332/week

Shift Pattern: 12hour/shift, 36hours/week (3x12s)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and conducting assessments under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
• Monitor and document patient conditions, progress, and any changes in health status.
• Support patients and their families by providing education, emotional support, and answering any questions regarding their care.
• Ensure compliance with all clinical and safety protocols, as well as legal and ethical standards.
• Perform various nursing procedures, such as dressing changes, wound care, and IV therapy, following established guidelines and protocols.
• Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with procedures and examinations as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient records, assessments, and interactions in the electronic medical record.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid LPN license in the state of New York.
• At least one year of recent experience in a Med/Surg setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records and other clinical software.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the needs of the unit.
