RN Medical Oncology

Blended rate: $3000/Wk
Stipend: $1274/Wk
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals, to develop comprehensive care plans for patients with cancer.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, evaluating physical, emotional, and psychosocial factors, and apply sound clinical judgment to provide appropriate interventions.
- Administer medication treatments, chemotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions according to prescribed protocols and established guidelines, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, lab results, and other pertinent information, promptly communicating any significant changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Coordinate and facilitate various diagnostic and treatment procedures, including transfusions, radiation therapy, and other specialized procedures, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion throughout the cancer care journey.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring documentation is completed in a timely and organized manner.
Requirements:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; Associate degree in Nursing with relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care or oncology setting.
- Solid knowledge of cancer treatments, symptom management, and patient care protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex medical information to patients and families.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
