Job Description
Financial Responsibilities
All duties, authorities and responsibilities include:
Request new client accounts be opened
Client invoices and credit notes processing
COD accounts administration
Bad debt collection, action planning and follow-up
Debt collection (business) and collections feedback and follow up
Administration of procurement and accounts payable
Operational provisions requests administration
Processing deferred items requests
Extract information, evaluate, review and report on profit and loss statements
Respond to queries on profit and loss statement
Assist and cooperate during unannounced internal compliance audits
Collect and submit expense claims
Responsible for all travel bookings (Travel Policy)
Completion of all vendor forms and related documentation
Submit details of Withholding tax for invoices raised internationally on a monthly basis
Ensure all write offs are correctly completed
Ensure compliance with requirements and procedures for Petty Cash
Ensure all Inter-Company financial requirements are finalised and adhered to
Customer communication
Liaise with clients regarding queries - accounts, payments, etc
Quality & Health & Safety System
Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
Actively participate in safety related activities.
Always wear appropriate protective clothing.
Adhere to all relevant HSE procedures and protocols.
Keep workplace and equipment neat and tidy.
Perform Health and Safety inspections in designated areas
Report deviations and communicate instructions to improve and maintain the quality system.
Specific Authorities
Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or entry to hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to take action.
Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situation to higher authority to take action.
Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.
Other specific authorities as indicated on the Agri Food Laboratory Designated Staff List
Qualifications
Education
Appropriate tertiary qualification / Grade 12 certificate with 5 years applicable experience
Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience
5 years Finance and Accounting package experience.
Good communication skills
Exposure and knowledge of applicable financial environment.
