## Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Manual Machinist with specialized skills in pump assemblies to join our manufacturing team. This role involves precise machining of pump components, assembly, and testing to meet exacting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual machining practices, an in-depth understanding of pump mechanics, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
## Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate or modify parts for pump assemblies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to accurately machine parts to specifications.
- Measure and inspect machined parts using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to ensure they meet tolerance requirements.
- Perform assembly operations to build up pump units, including fitting, alignment, and adjustment of components.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining or assembly issues, making adjustments or repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to improve product design and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Document machining and assembly procedures, including recording measurements and test results.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of machining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
## Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or a related field is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a manual machinist, with specific expertise in pump assemblies.
- Proficient in the use of manual machining tools and equipment, with a strong understanding of machining techniques and material properties.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments and the application of quality control principles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on achieving production goals and maintaining high quality standards.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy materials.
