Role and Responsibilities

Custom Pipe & Fabrication Inc. (www.custompipe.com) is seeking Certified Combination Welders and Fitters for its Grand Island, NE facility. Applicants must have a strong understanding of welding and fitting processes working with various metal materials. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Produce quality parts according to manufacturing targets and schedules as directed by the Plant Manager.
• Knowledge of performing TIG and MIG welding.
• Weld a variety of materials, for example, ductile iron per the specifications from our customer’s order requests. 
• Assume responsibility for ensuring the duties of this position are performed in a safe and efficient manner. 
• Keep a clean and orderly work area. 
• Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Experience welding and fitting with various materials including stainless steel, ductile iron, and aluminum. 
• Ability to perform TIG and MIG welds are required.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing to learn and improve to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 
• High school diploma or GED required. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of diploma or GED. 
• Willingness to follow written or oral work instructions and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time. 

Preferred Skills

• Having ASME and/or AWS Certifications are a plus.
• Ability to work well with others, be organized and detail oriented. 
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and parts, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time. 
• Willingness to work in shifts that may include early or late hours, weekends, or overtime if necessary. 

Additional Notes

• Satisfactory pre-employment drug testing is required. 
• All applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting base wage is between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour, depending on work experience.
• After 30 days of employment, employee is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
• Vacation and sick pay accrual can be used once eligible.
