Plant Engineer

Job Title Plant Engineer Position Overview Shaw Industries is looking for a Plant Engineer for Plant WE to manage the procurement, installation, operation, and maintenance of plant production equipment, support equipment, and building systems utilizing safe, cost effective engineering and maintenance practices. The Plant Engineer also maintains compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs and coordinates the Maintenance organization through the Maintenance Supervisor and salaried maintenance associates to achieve department objectives; works directly with the staff Managers and to coordinate process improvement efforts. Responsible for planning and scheduling equipment installation, prioritizing maintenance work, maintaining the work order system, and ensuring adequate manpower and resources for the performance of required maintenance activities. Implements Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) and an Equipment Upkeep Strategy to improve preventive and predictive maintenance systems, improve equipment reliability, and increase efficiency. Provide technical and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for significant production and support system issues and investigations. Provides Engineering oversight for all MOCs and maintenance personnel training that is beyond the level of departmental standard work practices. Maintains a working relationship with Corporate and Divisional Project and Technical Managers in order to maintain and improve Safety, Quality and Productivity. Supports the EHS Manager with Environmental and Regulatory efforts. Manages the reliable delivery and efficiency of energy for the plant, including Electricity, Natural Gas, Water and Compressed Air. Participates on the Plant Leadership Team and promotes participation in the PRIDE Process and the SMS. Participates on the Safety Steering Committee; completes ASAs. Implements SAFE within the Maintenance department and advocates for the SAFE process throughout the plant. Manages NFPA 70E (Arc Flash) for the plant and mages the Material Handling (Hoisting, Rigging and Crane) program within the plant in conjunction with the EHA Manager. Reports directly to the Plant Manager. Qualifications Four year B.S. engineering degree or equivalent. Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment 2 years. Willingness to work off shift including weekends and holidays as needed.
