Sheldon Cleaners has been helping customers choose "Life Over Laundry" for over 75 years. We are looking for an Assistant Manager to help lead and deliver the "Bowtie Experience" for customers at our full-service Laundry Room in Kentwood. The Assistant Manager needs to be a team player and help the General Manager oversee the team. The successful Assistant Manager candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, engage other colleagues in delivering a good experience, and support staff effectively in executing our process. This role will include entry level coaching concepts and training new hires along with supporting colleagues in their development plan.
Assistant Manager Features and Benefits:
***HOURS AND COMPENSATION***
- Full time typically results in 35-40 hours per week, minimal overtime as needed
- Typically 2 shifts: 6am-2pm or 2pm to 10pm
- Rotating weekdays, weekends and open/closing shifts
- Pay ranges from $15-$17 with opportunity for advancement.
- Automatic, stepped up pay raises every 90 days (up to cap)
- $500 Annual Sign-on bonus in year 1

Responsibilities
- Training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to staff
- Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service
- Greeting and assisting customers by creating a welcoming and energetic atmosphere
- Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
- Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths
- Address concerns that arise from staff or customers
- Model behaviors effectively and drive engagement with the team
- Build relationships and customer connections through positive, memorable interactions and service delivery.
- Utilize inventory management software, process payments, and conduct customer research
- Detail garments, interpret care labels, assign pricing, and sort items
- Demonstrate dependability with attendance, key responsibilities, and core behaviors
