Work is performed primarily in the assigned facility, and occasionally in vehicles, meeting rooms both in the facility and at other agency sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Oversees all recruiting activities to ensure efficiency and reliability within Shelter, Inc and serves as a strategic HR business partner to Executive/Management team members in development of a superior workforce. Works with all assigned Job Fairs in area and creates partnerships to maximize diverse applicant response. Submits all job posting, and submission of successful job applicants to department heads for follow-up interviews according to Shelter’s Policies and Procedures; Federal, State and Local regulations; the Department of Children and Family Services licensing standards; and the national Council on Accreditation guidelines.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Responsible for all initial employment inquiries and initial interviews.
2. Submits successful applicants screened to department heads.
3. Follows up with department heads regarding successful interviews and schedules initiation of background progress.
4. Maintains applicant information and statistics, and ensures the completion of all pre-employment requirements.
5. Performs other duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Minimum of one to three years in Human Resources field.
3. Demonstrated ability to engage the public and applicants effectively.
4. Knowledge of recruiting principles.
5. Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Shelter's mission, vision, and values.
6. Must have a valid Illinois driver's license, automobile, and must submit proof of Illinois auto insurance.
7. Must complete a Medical and T.B. test. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the latest CDC guidelines.
8. Must be fingerprinted by the State of Illinois and must submit to a full Background Check through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
9. Must submit official educational transcripts from the last school in which a degree was awarded.
10. Ability to lift 40 lbs.
