The Senior IT Manager, Cybersecurity Engineering, is responsible for the planning, building, delivery, and support of the Cybersecurity Engineering technologies and processes. The Manager will lead the research, design, and implementation of cyber security solutions for organization systems and products that comply with all applicable security policies and standards.
This individual will provide direction and guidance to the development, specifications, and communication of the cyber security solutions for organizational systems and products that comply with all applicable security policies and standards, as well as provide in-depth technical consultation to the business units and IT management and assist in developing plans and direction for the integration of cybersecurity requirements. This individual will lead a team of experienced engineers, developers and analysts in the Endpoint security, Network security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) space in accordance with governance and change management processes. This includes accountability for technology processes, documentation, and initiatives to ensure normal service operations are maintained with minimal disruption to the business. The Sr IT Manager is accountable for leading staff in the administration and use of the Cybersecurity tools providing protection for Sherwin in a multitude of areas. This individual is responsible for detailed reporting, KPIs and monitoring staff productivity. This position will work closely with Cybersecurity team leadership to improve and maintain the overall security program and ensure compliance with the Cybersecurity policies of the organization. The Sr IT Manager will work with the security teams to assist in any compliance or forensic investigations.
This role will be responsible for the Endpoint Security, Network security and Data Loss Prevention technology teams. This role will report to the Sr Director, Architecture and Engineering.
Essential Functions
The Sr IT Manager of Cybersecurity Engineering is responsible for advising business, security and technology leadership on ways to improve and maintain Cybersecurity Operations. The position requires a strong technical background and a deep understanding of Cybersecurity technologies. This position develops strategy for the following areas: Endpoint Security, DLP and Network security. This function oversees much of the technology within the Cybersecurity organization. This position also serves as the subject matter expert in technologies and strategies around the above subjects.
- Develops and delivers the Cybersecurity Engineering strategy and roadmaps.
- Analyzes and makes recommendations to improve network, system and application architectures in conjunction with the Security Architecture organization.
- Works closely with the Cybersecurity Architecture organization for standards and processes.
- Builds, leads and has full management responsibility for the performance and development of a team of experienced security engineers.
- Owns and drives Cybersecurity Engineering strategy to span legacy environments as well as newly built public cloud environment(s) to include all technology decisions and associated budget.
- Provides coaching guidance and direction on projects ensuring overall fit with architecture direction.
- Acts as the fully accountable party for all Cybersecurity Engineering services including but not limited to Network Security, DLP And Endpoint Security.
- Provides oversight over all regular Cybersecurity Engineering operations and ensures the department provides exceptional service and that SLAs are met or exceeded.
- Establishes performance metrics and leverage metrics to drive control and process improvements.

- Prepare and lead presentations as requested.
- Monitor program progress and provide visibility of program status against roadmap to full stakeholder group.
- Assist with other projects as necessary to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the teamwork.
- Lead internal teams/task forces on initiatives as assigned.

Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management, Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Preferred Certifications: Certification in Certified Information Systems Security Professional, and/or Certified Information Security Manager
Knowledge & Experience
- 12 years of IT experience
- 8 years of managing direct reports or enterprise department manager experience.
- 6 years’ experience with Cybersecurity Engineering and Technologies, systems, and processes.
- Expertise with Engineering security concepts, principles and processes and technology solutions.
- Engineering management experience in one or more of the following areas: Endpoint Security, data management, data security management, Network Security, Zero Trust Architecture, directory services.
Preferred
- Expert understanding of security standards, architecture, security best practices and application security best practices
- 10 years managing large scale IT initiatives a plus.
- 8 years working with internal clients and/or external agencies/partners.
- Technical expertise in network security knowledge, to include VPN, firewall, network monitoring, intrusion detection, web server security and wireless security, cloud, OT, and the Internet of Things (IoT)
- Senior-level knowledge of modern security architectures (i.e. Zero Trust Architecture)
- Demonstrated success in establishing strategic objectives and driving tactical execution of initiatives aligned with company goals and objectives.
