FLSA: Non- Exempt SALARY: $50,000
FULL TIME / HOURS: 8:30 AM- 5:00 PM, M-F
Hybrid - Remote & Office / Field
Fatherhood program provides fathers and father figures with groups, support, and linkages to SHIELDS services. Fathers learn parenting tools, receive family resources, and develop a community with other fathers enrolled in the program.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Coordinate and facilitate weekly Fatherhood/Parenting Group.
- Engage Fathers in the community to participate in Fatherhood through outreach.
- Provide case management to include intake, assessment of needs, referrals, links and support in accessing community services and resources.
- Create charts and maintain documentation of client services and progress; ensuring compliance with agency/program policies and procedures.
- Report difficulties engaging clients into the program to the Program Manager and Clinical Coordinator; collaborating to resolve issues at hand.
- Provide crisis intervention and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Develops and maintains various skills through seminars, workshops, conferences or other forms of training/education related to working with Fathers.
- Coordinate Fatherhood events as well as attend other community Fatherhood events.
- Link client to individual and family counseling (as needed).
- Advocate for Fathers based on intake assessment.

Requirements
Education/Experience
- Minimum High School diploma/ GED and/or three years of experience working with at risk populations in a social service/mental health environment; preferably a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Current California driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
- Strong working knowledge of case management, documentation, and multicultural and socio-economic issues.
- Know and comply with Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, Department of Mental Health, policies and documentation guidelines, and other state/federal regulations relating to service programs for at risk populations.
- Basic advocacy skills.
- Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Efficiently use the personal computer to include a variety or word processing software.
- Utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make decisions.
- Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and SHIELDS For Families philosophies.
- Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish.
- Provides services within a culturally sensitive, ethnic informed model of practice and is respectful to the community and clients.
