What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Chef position at Shift Catering | Memphis, TN?
The Head Chef position will report to the Business Manager and Executive Chef and is responsible for the oversight and execution of food quality, preparation, execution and presentation of all foods and events to meet or exceeds the standards of Shift Catering Company.
Duties:
- Direct kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleanup
- Acquire new business and meet or exceed monthly new business goals.
- Work with Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop new menus
- Manage budgets
- Assign tasks; supervise chefs in the preparation and presentation of food
- Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively
- Make sure that all kitchen and wait staff adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen
- Work with Business Manager to set prices for food items
- Make adjustments as needed based on availability of ingredients
- Oversee inventory
- Lead event management tasks
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and take control of any problematic situations
- Manage and train kitchen staff
- Assess staff performance
- Work with Executive Chef and Business Manager to order supplies
- Other duties as assigned

- Previous catering experience.

Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
