What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pricing Analyst position at Shift Technologies?
Shift is hiring a Pricing Analyst to work cross functionally on a range of high value projects. The Pricing Analyst will ensure that we are using all the business intelligence and market insights available to drive optimization in how Shift acquires and sells used vehicles. This is a fast-paced role that touches nearly all aspects of the business, offering a dynamic day-to-day, high business impact, and varied opportunities for learning and skill development.
What You Will Do:
- Ensure that pricing analytics reporting and insights delivery is up-to-date, actionable, and accessible to the business.
- Work cross-functionally with all facets of the business to maximize the impact of pricing strategies on operations, marketing, data science, sales, finance, product, and more.
- Deliver recommendations and insights to leadership about how to manage our pricing levers most effectively.
- Create financial models and business cases to bolster recommendations and influence stakeholders.
- Have opportunities for mentorship as skills develop and new interesting assignments are delegated.
What You Will Bring:
- 2-4 years in a business analytics-heavy role (preferably pricing, marketing, or finance) substitutable with analysis skill and relevant business acumen.
- A BA in a quantitative specialization, Statistics and/or Economics focus preferred. Non-quant BA acceptable with MBA and/or quantitative work experience.
- A collaborative personality.
- Experience creating basic financial models, analyzing large data sets, communicating complex ideas/insights to various audiences.
- Intermediate to strong SQL experience.
- Strong excel/google sheets.
- Intermediate to strong BI systems (Looker preferred, PowerBI or Tableau).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Retail pricing experience is a plus.
