ShipperHQ is a startup headquartered in Austin, TX making a big impact in the e-commerce shipping space. Founded in 2009, we are a premier supplier of shipping software for e-commerce sites, selling to both SMB and Enterprise customers. We have 40 team members spread across the US, the UK, Ireland, and Australia. 30 members are based in Austin, TX. We are seeking an outgoing individual with a positive attitude that is willing to grow with the company.
The Sr. Frontend Rails developer will contribute in the following areas:
- Submit thoroughly reviewed code that has passed a high standard of QA before technical review
- Work closely with designers and other engineers to implement design-driven UI and webpages
- Be a meticulous time manager who can balance several open projects and maximize productivity on tight timelines
- Hands-on work with existing systems to maintain and improve quality and stability
- Help train junior team members
- Have strong communications skills and daily transparency on your progress with remote team members
The ideal candidate would have the following experience:
- 5 years of commercial software development experience
- Highly proficient with writing semantic HTML/CSS3, Javascript, React.js
- Has demonstrable commercial full-stack Ruby on Rails development experience
- Follows and champions test-driven development and adheres to coding standards
- Experience with agile methodologies and delivering solutions in an iterative way
- Is adaptable and responsive
- Is meticulous and has a high-quality bar
- Experience in a startup or small company environment
- Has strong communication skills and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn new languages, technologies, and stacks
- Degree in computer science, software or equivalent
- Has a “glass half full” attitude
Bonus points if you have experience in any or all of the following:
- Node.js
- GraphQL
- UX research and/or UI design
- Experience with accessibility optimizations
- AWS
- SaaS or high traffic environments

Logistics:
