The ideal candidate should have experience with communicating with patients and other health care professionals. They will be responsible for working with orders and following them through from start to finish. You will also be trained, if you already do not have experience, in compounding sterile preparations and all of the requirements needed. This position reports to the pharmacy manager.

You will assists with:

  • Insurance approvals and authorizations
  • Medical billing and coding
  • Understanding and using the pharmacy systems in place to do data entry of patient referrals. Work with referral sources to help patient receive their treatment. Work with patients to make sure they understand the process.
  • Assembly of patient supplies and equipment
  • Other tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of the pharmacy work areas as described in the company policies and procedures
  • Assists with quality control and performance improvement activities as directed by the pharmacy manager.
  • 100% training will be provided for qualified candidates.

Required:

  • Good interactive skills with employees, patients, supervisors, and referral sources.
  • At least 18 years of age

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience working with third party plans and prior authorization process.
  • medical authorizations Billing and coding experience
  • Experience in laboratory or health care setting
  • Complies with company policies related to the compounding process and patient care.
  • Knowledge to USP Chapter < 797> to assure the quality, sterility, and stability of compounded sterile preparations
  • Accurately and safely prepares medications, labels, and drug compounding records.
  • Accurately prepares patient supplies for dispensing.
  • Consistently maintains and cleans pharmacy work areas as directed by the pharmacy manager, and completes the pharmacy maintenance log.
  • Attends in-service education programs and stays knowledgeable regarding current equipment and procedures.'
