POSITION SUMMARY:
This position has primary responsibility for reviewing and implementing local demand plans to maintain the inventory investment at levels that achieve service, quality, and cost objectives for the region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with various departments to define demand management requirements for the region, including tracking and monitoring usage patterns and developing recommendations for inventory replenishment and stocking levels.
- Using metrics, establish and maintain inventory performance measures on product family levels.
- Continually review customer service levels and supply constraints. Identify adjustments required to balance hub inventory and control systems as needed to meet objectives.
- Maintain Masterfile codes to ensure setup is accurate and effective for proper demand planning and reporting.
- Provide supply planning and inventory management reporting that reflects hub inventory, turn rates, days of supply, obsolescence and associated corrective actions.
- Provide availability and line fill reporting to ensure customer on time shipment objectives are being met.
- Working with product management and sales, coordinate demand planning strategies for customer specific programs, opportunity management, new product launch, phase out, and discontinuation. Assuring programs are approved in accordance with proper Delegation of Authority levels.
- Keep management informed on the availability of materials, market conditions, vendor performance and quality control issues that impact overall hub inventory.
- Coordinate supplier returns of unneeded items.
- Review, research and track excess inventory and make recommendations to management for proper reserve requirements, and for disposition.
- Perform Sales and Operations Planning with supported Product Management teams to insure alignment and transparency in the process.
- Provide required Forecasts to stakeholders and supply planning.
- Drive the demand management strategy through the supply chain to ensure service levels are met with the optimum total pipeline inventory, lead time and cost.
- Train personnel on operating guidelines, policy and procedures for demand management and control.
- Works with supporting inventory coordinators to ensure plan is being executed.
- Coordinate with supply planning as required for key Finished Goods suppliers
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 0-5 years of business experience, preferably in planning and/or audit work including controlling and forecasting inventory levels
Other Qualifications:
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal required.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Experience training others.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications
- Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed
- Legally permitted to work in the United States
- Ability to work in a general office environment
