What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter Assistant position at Sid Grinker Restoration?
This position assists lead carpenters with both finish and rough carpentry skills on various residential and commercial reconstruction and restoration projects, with the expectation of assistance on demolition and emergency needs as well. Carpenters are expected to perform high-level quality of work while providing excellent customer service and representation of the Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
- Assists on any or all of the following:
- Installs and/or repairs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, railings, and roofs using a variety of materials
- Fits and installs and/or repairs windows, window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, and interior and exterior trim
- Fits and installs basic plumbing and electrical components (faucets, light fixtures, etc)
- Shapes, cuts, and installs materials using hand tools, machines, and power saws and tools
- Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment
- Works safely at all times with appropriate safety equipment
- Assists with demolition work including demolishing and disposing of walls and structural components
- Is on call on a rotating basis for and completes temporary services such as demolition, roof tarps, board ups, and occasional mitigation
- Works occasional overtime to when necessary to deliver project on time and with excellence
- Takes responsibility for all company owned tools and supplies
- Provides reliable transportation to and from work sites
- Communicates clearly and openly with Director of Construction, Estimators, and Team Leads
- Shows abilities to work independently and with a team
- Participates in continuing education and training to hone and develop skills and safety practices
- Provides superior customer service
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
