A Snapshot of Your Day
The primary purpose of this position is to set up, braze and polish machined blades requiring Stellite strips.
How You’ll Make An Impact
The following are the major job duties, but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties by the incumbent. Unless otherwise stated, each employee is responsible for their own work as well as the responsibility of safety for themselves and their co-workers.
o Cut, Fit and Braze Stellite Strips to Blade Recess Per Work Instructions
o Fit Stellite strips to size
o Cut & Fit solder to blade recess
o Hand braze strips using Oxy/Acetylene torch
o Operate shot peen machine
o Load parts into machines and/or vices and clamps for production procedures.
o Heat in induction brazing unit, heating the part per traveler request.
o Operate cut-off saw
o Receive assignments, oral and/or written, from supervision.
o Inspect all blades per specification and determine acceptability of components per the standards.
o Locate blades by order number in A-frames and manually move to workstation.
o Check operating procedures for priority grinding, lineup operations, and special instructions.
o Determine required tooling and fixturing; locate parts from tool crib and/or workstation.
o Clean and/or replace filters in dust collectors.
o Mark, stamp, and/or record production information, manually or using computer equipment as indicated.
o Use designated precision measuring and testing devices to assure adherence to manufacturing and engineering specifications.
o Notify supervision of irregularities or equipment malfunctions.
o Deburr and clean blades and strips as directed.
o Perform daily or routine maintenance on equipment.
What You Bring:
Entry-level position - requires experience working in an industrial environment.
Competency Expectations: With the above knowledge/skills, it will take 12 months to become proficient in all job responsibilities
Physical Demand: Moderate
