The specific responsibilitiesassigned to the position (but not limited to) are:
Operations Management, whichincludes:
- Ownership of and ensuring alignment with safety, quality, utilization, on-time delivery, and quote response time policies and procedures.
- Collaboration with Shop Leadman to direct, coordinate, and schedule shop inspection and repairs.
- Work closely with team and other internal partners during execution of work, to troubleshoot issues, advise path forward, and ensure schedules/commitment dates are honored and communicate with alternate shifts to ensure continuity.
- Participate and lead (as requested) continuous improvement activities, including but not limited to safety and quality initiatives.
- Provide project managers with estimated hours to complete inspection, repairs, reassembly, and testing activities. Advise them regarding necessary steps to execute repairs according to OEM (original equipment manufaturer) standards.
People Management, which includes:
- Support the Service Center Manager with administrative management of roughly 15 shop floor employees (mechanics, machinists, weld technician, leadman) and attend and lead (alongside Shop Leadman) daily toolbox meetings at start of shift (6am), with focus on safety, quality, and important tasks/projects at hand including providing guidance and input during performance reviews.
- Develop the competencies of shop floor personnel and identify training requirements.
- Support the Service Center Manager with hiring efforts, including interviews, shop tours, and skills assessments. Ensure accurate reporting of employee time, attendance, and submit for approval in a timely manner.
Facility Management:
- Responsible for coordinating required service to upkeep shop machinery and equipment, including maintenance, tooling, calibration, and safety inspections, per company policies.
- Implement new ideas concerning methods, procedures, and changes in technologies and take an active role in the overall Lean initiative.
- Promote and support good housekeeping, safety, productivity and quality. Promote "6S" by monitoring the overall cleanliness and organization of all shop areas.
- Ensure environmental/safety issues are managed according to legal requirements, company policy and procedures, and good work practices. Consult manager/safety department with questions relating to environmental/safety responsibilities.
- Place work orders on facility management portal for routine maintenance items. Collaborate, support, and supervise contractors and vendors performing facility maintenance work and special building projects. Show engagement and involvement on existing projects, and bring ideas for new projects.
WhatYou Bring
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in an engineering field and 5 years heavy manufacturing/repair shop/field service experience; or a minimum of 10 years heavy manufacturing/repair shop/field service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a high school diploma.
- Experience and a good understanding of shop labor planning and typical repair activities, including digital reports that can be used to generate shop floor schedules required.
- Shown ability to supervise a team of 10-15 employees and provide guidance, support, development, assignments, and scheduling. Experience with performance reviews and resolving employee questions is required. Experience with personnel and operations supervision at repair centers and/or factories is highly desired.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and a general knowledge of steam turbine and turbo compressor inspections and repairs. Must possess skills necessary to troubleshoot machinery and equipment issues on the shop floor.
- Knowledge of shop planning tool like OnePM or equivalent is desired. Must be proficient at Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and show proficient computer and handheld tablet skills.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, night shift, and holidays on occasion as business requires.

The Horsham Service Center,located roughly an hour north of Philadelphia, PA, is comprised of a team of 25hardworking individuals, including mechanics, machinists, weld technicians, NDTinspectors, repair engineers, and project managers. The shop was originallyestablished in the early 1970’s as a Worthington repair center, servicing localnortheast clients. Acquired by Dresser-Rand, Siemens, and now Siemens Energy,it has since grown, and its capabilities expanded to support all majorrefineries on the east coast and the mid-west. The Philly shop specializes issteam turbine, turbo compressor, and Gimpel valve repairs.
