What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Procurement Specialist position at Siemens Energy?
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be working with a cross-functional team to deliver commodity strategies, lead sourcing projects to achieve Total cost reduction, and deliver a weatherproof supply chain.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Carry out in-depth cost breakdown analysis (including cost estimation) and negotiate the lowest TCA in order to contribute to the divisional cost-saving target.
- Drive cost reduction and resourcing programs to support strategy execution ensuring impact on existing supply chains are managed.
- Lead sourcing activities and negotiations for low to high-value aerospace and industrial-type components to optimize cost opportunities, contract coverage, and secure supply continuity.
- Undertake minor to major contractual and price negotiations with new and existing suppliers to mitigate commercial risk and optimize commercial advantage for current and future programs.
- Develop and deliver robust and integrated Commodity and Supplier strategies to provide supply chains capable of providing business needs across all stakeholder areas.
- Ensure close cooperation with internal customers to ensure customer care and early involvement.
- Strong and proven negotiation skills.
What You Bring:
- Ability to work in a complex, fast-changing global organizational environment.
- Extensive years of experience in strategic sourcing/commodity management.
- Outstanding Excel skills.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent commercial, contractual, and project management acumen.
- Familiarity with component Manufacturing processes and Quality
- Knowledge of working with a global supplier base, in a matrix environment.
- Preferably bachelor’s degree or CPM/CPSM qualified.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
