What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grant Coordinator position at Siena Francis House?
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Develop and write grant proposals to government, foundations and other grant-making organizations;
- Ability to write clear, structured, articulate and persuasive proposals;
- Persuasively communicate the mission, services and programs of SFH to potential funders;
- Ability to research, identify, and qualify funding opportunities from government, corporate and foundation sources;
- Manage the assembly and submission of grant requests, including letters of support, proposals, presentations, and reporting;
- Maintain annual grant calendar to ensure timely submission of new grant applications, reporting deadlines, letters of inquiry, proposal due dates, etc.;
- Edit/proof grant proposals and other communications to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax;
- Work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with leadership (managers and officers) to produce proposal content;
- Work closely with the program staff to become familiar with a wide array of programs and ensure compelling and high-quality submissions;
- Coordinates with contributors to ensure grant requirements and deadlines are met;
- Manage reporting, stewardship, acknowledgments for charitable gifts, appeal letters, etc.;
- Ability to operate in an extremely organized manner with meticulous attention to details;
- Capable of producing a quality work product within tight time constraints;
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources;
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred;
- 2 years experience in grant writing preferred;
- Proven track record in securing new funding opportunities a plus;
- Knowledge of advanced computer operations (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher) and ability to learn company grant software;
- Must have demonstrated excellence in written communication skills, both technical and persuasive;
- Must be team-oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Writing samples required.
