Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our facilities. This is a vital role in ensuring a safe and inviting environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. This is a full-time, afternoon shift position with an excellent benefits package. The schedule is TU-SAT, 3:00 pm-11:30 PM. Must have dependable transportation and excellent attendance record.
Duties:
- Perform general custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, such as hallways, lobbies, and break rooms
- Perform floor care duties, including buffing, waxing, and polishing floors
- Ensure proper maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies
- Follow established safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment
- Assist with setting up rooms for meetings or events as needed
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel
Experience:
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and practices
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning products and equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
