Position Summary
The Director of Information Technology performs a variety of activities related to Information Technology for business. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate and enhance performance. This position will work heavily with software related to the Property Management industry. This position will direct the company’s Information Technology operations to provide efficient and effective technical support services. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Information Technology
In conjunction with Managed IT Service Provider, oversee the IT operations
Serve as lead contact for IT projects and new implementations
Create, manage, and maintain a secure Companywide digital file system
Create, manage, and maintain a secure Companywide file system backup program
Create, manage, and maintain a secure Companywide password process and system for all employees
Provide recommendations on company application/hardware purchases
Plan related technical training for new technologies and processes
Plans, coordinates, and implements new projects to help to continue to improve all IT functions
Work with Managed IT Service Provider to maintain comprehensive inventory of all hardware, software, and network assets
Oversees and assists with training personnel on IT software/hardware
Gather and analyze system requirements to support business objectives
Responsible for review and solving of user-submitted IT problems
Responsible for account creation within the various IT solutions that are deployed now and, in the future
Responsible for IT review and order processing
Manage and coordinate technology requirements
Maintain cyber security
Oversees and manages all website domains, approves all domain purchases and renewals, and any website hosting services and contracts.
Maintains and oversees a corporate Help Desk Ticketing System ensuring that responses and solutions are timely in order to effectively support the organization
Maintains updated knowledge base of new technologies and trends within the industry
Utilizes software partner training resources to keep abreast of software updates; also ensures that his team does the same
Partners with the Development Team to provide recommendations for hardware and software technologies to be utilized in all new developments
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Minimum Bachelors (BS/BA) in Information Technology, Business Management, or related field is required
Prior experience as an IT Manager required
Minimum 5 years IT and Management experience preferred
Prior experience with property management software platforms preferred
Experience with software within the property management industry preferred
Hands-on experience with various interview formats (phone, Zoom and structured)
Multitasking and time management are essential
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Critical thinking and demonstrates keen problem-solving skills
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
Understands internet and networking functions to assist with their implementations and operations
Understands interfaces and assists in their set up and operation
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office knowledge required (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent Microsoft environment knowledge required (One Drive, Sharepoint, etc.)
Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers), demonstrated professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information
Must have strong skills in organization and planning, as well as a demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and problem solving
Advance negotiation skills
