Overview
The FOH Manager directly reports to the General Manager. They work collaboratively with the Kitchen Managers, Sous Chefs, and Pastry Chef. FOH Supervisors, Shift Leads, and hourly employees report directly to the FOH Manager.
The FOH Manager supports the LA Sycamore store by ensuring an efficient and productive workflow throughout their assigned shift. They are expected to be aware of the needs of the business, manage the counter flow, and delegate tasks to the operating team. The FOH
Manager is responsible for sharing feedback with management regarding shift outcomes and business needs. Position accountability includes: coaching, staff recruitment and hiring, staff training and discipline, staff performance evaluations, service standards maintenance, cash handling, staff scheduling, customer incidents, property maintenance, inventory management, and assigned administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
Remains knowledgeable and educates staff and customers on current product offerings including beans, drinks, food, and merchandise.
Follows General Manager directives and supports team members to anticipate needs, ensure smooth operations, and upholding of Sightglass product and service standards.
Adheres to company policies, including but not limited to, cash handling, product standards, facility maintenance and hospitality best practices.
Remains abreast of staff scheduling needs while keeping staffing levels within budget.
Recruits, interviews, and hires for open FOH positions.
Maintains safe, cash drawers, cashier turn-ins and deposits per documented cash handling procedures.
Conducts monthly inventory as assigned.
Strives for the highest standards in products, customer interaction, attitude and leadership.
Sets the tone for the team by practicing and upholding a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
Understands and exemplifies the training and quality standards as outlined by the Education team and location Managers.
Personifies the hospitality standard expected by Sightglass.
Maintains shift flow by delegating tasks, (cleaning, stocking, prepping), and ensuring the staff is focused on customer support and sales.
Provides feedback in a constructive manner.
Adjusts and maintains staff timecards.
Schedules regular staff meetings.
Accountable for all in-store signage and menus.
Facilitates staff education.

Possession of a current ServSafe Food Handler’s card and/or acquire a certificate.
Must be able to maintain a positive demeanor under stress with both staff and patrons.
Exercises good time management and approaches all tasks with a sense of urgency.
Has a logical and methodological approach to problem-solving.
Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for 4 hours.
Ability to maneuver effectively around the café, office, and up/downstairs.
