Material Handler/Assembler

We are currently looking for a Material Handler/Assembler to join our team in Redmond. This role is full-time in-office The pay range is $25-30/hour
Primary Function:
The Material Handler/Assembler is responsible for the movement, storage, and control of materials throughout the entire process from receipt to shipping or consumption/disposal. When inventory demand is slow this position will be expected to step into the production lines to build and test prototype assemblies in support of the overall device assemblies. This position will be the conduit of incoming and outgoing material to the production process, in conformance with client expectations and Sigma Design standards; right part to the right place at the right time.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Safe, proper movement and storage of materials while executing the corresponding ERP transactions quickly and accurately to support internal and external customers
- Responsible for conducting cycle counts on incoming and currently stocked material, and supporting reconciliations to resolve inventory variances at times performing physical on hand verification
- Assist Inventory Control Coordinator to identifying, labeling, locate and place stocked material
- Systematically pull item(s) and quantity using pick ticket or request form
- May assist with receiving or shipping of products, parts and/or materials along with non-conforming material
- Support continuous improvement efforts as it relates to inventory control, or the betterment of the organization
- When Inventory demand is low assit production with simple assembly and semi-automated assembly steps
- Interact with customers to provide assistance and guidance in keeping with our stand operating procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, quick-changing prototype environment which shifting priorities daily
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
- 1-3 years in a manufacturing/assembly or inventory position
- Knowledge of inventory terms such as bins, inventory status, committed/allocated, backordered, pick(ing) list, bill of materials
- Experience with MRP/ERP or MES software
- Ability to lift products up to 50 lbs.
- Familiar with material flow in a factory environment (Receiving -> Inventory Storage -> Assembly -> Shipping)
- Experience with small assembly processes and soldering experience preferred
- Able to use all material handling tools safely and properly, including racks/carts, and pallet jack
- Methodical and detail oriented, process driven
- Ability and openness to learn new skills related to prototype assembly, test, soldering and inventory practices
- Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group

- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Pass a post-offer background verification
Work Environment
Standard production environment which requires regular sitting, standing, bending, reaching and moving about the facility. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining.
