POSITION SUMMARY
Supervises a staff of facilities maintenance workers; perform maintenance service and repairs servicing for assigned plant. Monitors procedures and equipment to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supervise maintenance workers engaged in installing, servicing, and repairing utility equipment.
- Review work requests and work orders and update work orders to appropriate status; requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems; recommends new hires and disciplines responsible for training, coaching, and communications to the maintenance staff; interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- May recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
- Review work requests and work orders and update work orders to appropriate status
- May direct workers engaged in maintenance activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
- One (1) year maintenance experience
- One (1) year leadership experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or other related education
- Two (2) years maintenance experience
- Two (2) years leadership experience
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES (KSA’s)
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repairs and can perform all set-ups and tear downs of all equipment in area.
- Must possess organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor, and work well independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts.
- Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35- and 95-degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
