Job Summary:

The Flex Patrol security officer will protect people and property from any potential criminal activity. Officers patrol designated zones to create peace of mine for clients and residents while acting as a deterrent for crime.

Availability:

• Must be able to work some nights and possible weekends.
• Must be available to cover call-outs with short notice.
• 3:00 AM - 9:00 AM. (Flexible Hours between 6 and 8 hour shifts).
• Positions available Monday - Sunday.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activity to local authorities.
• Monitor’s surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
• After business hours, check doors, windows, and gates to ensure property is secure.
• Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.
• Escorts discharge staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge:
  • On public safety & security regulations and city codes.
  • On customer needs to include meeting our quality standards for security services.
  • On the English language structure and content including meaning and spelling of words as well as proper grammar etiquette.
  • On smart phones, tablets, and application use during duty.
  • Have a valid drivers license.
  • Current Guard Card required/preferred
• Skills:
  • Excellent observational skills and paying attention to detail.
  • Have an authoritative verbal communicative ability to convey information effectively.
  • Listening to others, not interrupting, and asking appropriate questions.
  • Problem solving, noticing a problem, and figuring out the best way to solve it.
  •  Able to understand written sentences and paragraphs on work related documents. (reports)
• Ability:
  • To remain calm in high pressure situations
  • To de-escalate high pressure situations and not react inappropriately.
  • To learn the layout off the property and buildings during your route.
  • To navigate to properties in a timely manner.
  • To multi-task efficiently.
  • To complete online training modules to keep up with our standards.
  • To get along with other employees and supervisors, follow directions, and showing the desire to learn new things and always give your best.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Security guard training certification preferred.
• Previous experience a plus, but not required.

Physical/ Basic Requirements:

• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
• Prolonged periods of standing, driving and standing.
• Must be able to walk for long periods of time, I.E Walking up and down stairs.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Pass a drug and background test.
