Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing quality checks and analyzing data
  • Product testing on analytical equipment
  • Ensuring the compliance of GMP, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements on the production floor
  • Communicate important quality and safety information across all departments
  • Verification of all labels for accuracy and safety
  • Daily cleaning of lab and equipment
  • Assisting in the writing and management of quality assurance documents
  • Monitoring regulations, problem solving, analyzing documents, providing advice, and verifying claims.
  • Support the Quality Manager in the daily tasks.
  • Monitor, gather, verify, study food and labeling regulations/standards and their possible revisions relative to local market and set up appropriate means to ensure constant update on regulatory topics of interest, e.g. through legislative monitoring services or trade associations or consultants, etc.
  • Share information on food and labeling legislation/standards with other functions within the organization. Prepare and issue ingredients lists and nutrition information upon recipe shared by R&D.
  • Work closely with other departments, e.g., R&D relative to advice on additives, raw materials, and food law.
  • Ensure legal compliance of products with national food legislation/standards of the territories involved, i.e., preparing and verifying additives, ingredients, nutritional information, raw materials verification, labeling rules, labels, claims, pictorials, etc. Check the product labels providing the final approval according to local regulations to ensure compliance.

Education and/or experience

One year related experience is preferred but not required for this position. This position requires a detail oriented, motivated, and dependable individual who is open to change and can deal with challenges in a calm and effective manner. The ability to work with other departments, self-manage, and self-motive are important in this role.

Language Skills

Must be able to read and analyze testing data, procedures, manuals, and clearly record information. Will occasionally be required to speak with customers or auditors. May be asked to assist in updating or creating procedures.

Mathematical Skills

Must be able to use fundamental units of weights and measures and perform basic math.

Physical Demands

This job requires the employee to be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. The employee may need to occasionally lift and move up to 30lbs and may need to bend to get to items. Must be able to adequately see, hear, and speak on a production floor at a moderate noise level.

Work Environment

A mix of moderate to loud noise (ear plugs are available to all staff) on the productions floor, low noise levels in the lab and offices. Temperature on the production floor varies with the outside weather and must be able to work around hot sauce and in cooler and freezers on occasion.
