Position Summary:
The Compensation and Benefits Analyst will support compensation and benefits daily and year-end policy, program, and administration activities. The role is also responsible for supporting the Director of Benefits and Compensation Manager with special projects, including annual enrollment, annual audits, plan integrations, and compliance activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing the compensation and benefits planning process through the implementation and ownership of timelines, processes, and communication plans.
- Collect, analyze and audit data to monitor participation, utilization, and trends for health and welfare plans.
- Supports the development, coordination, and distribution of compensation and benefit communications.
- Assists in the annual merit, performance, short-term incentive, and long-term incentive processes.
- Audits year-end calculations / payments and is responsible for identifying and correcting data issues.
- Assist with coordination and preparation of annual enrollment, including;
- Participation in system testing
- Review and coordinate delivery of communication materials.
- Completion of post-enrollment audits
- Review, prepare and reconcile benefit related invoices for processing.
- Coordinate and execute billing.
- Respond to accounting inquiries and provide analysis of variances and exception expenses.
- Provide input on annual budget related to benefit plan expenses.
- Perform year-end activities including annual reporting and filings (5500, 1094, 1095), 401K and compensation audits & other government reporting requests.
- Assist in the implementation of new benefit programs, as required.
- Assist with job grading, market analysis, and job catalog maintenance.
- Support new and existing wellness initiatives.
- Provide support to HR and employees on benefit inquiries.
- Perform mail merges and mass mailings for compensation and benefits communications.
- Responsible for disability management reporting and associated employee communications
- Duties related to 401k & HSA funding.
- Generate standard and ad-hoc benefits and compensation reports.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on discretion and confidentiality
- Strong analytical, organization, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to conduct root-cause analysis and drive continuous improvement
- Experience handling routine complex compensation and benefit inquiries
- Understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment and HR policies
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security, DOL, and benefit related regulatory requirements
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work on various projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Proficiency with the organization’s HCM system (Ceridian Dayforce) or similar HRIS system
- Ability to understand complex plan documents and insurance contracts
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree or equivalent in Human Resources or Business Administration
- Min 2 - 3 years’ experience in compensation, benefits administration, and HRIS
- Prior experience with Global Mobility strongly preferred
- SHRM-CP, PHR, CEBS, World at Work, or other HR-related certification is preferred
