What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Worker position at Signs By Tomorrow?
The Production Specialist is responsible for preparing substrates/media and producing all graphic/signage jobs according to work order specifications within the stated timeline and maintaining a neat and organized work area. This team member is responsible for specified graphic/signage installations at the client’s site. The Production Specialist will assist with sign order deliveries, on-site signage inspection and sign measuring tasks.
Compensation:$14 - $18 hourly
Responsibilities:Customer Service – as necessary:
- Work with clients in a consultative manner to understand their needs and provide guidance for best solution.
- Promote Signs By Tomorrow in a professional manner while on client site for installation, sign delivery and/or site inspection/sign measuring tasks.
Operation and Maintenance of Equipment:
- As needed, operate plotter, laminator, and wide-format equipment to produce client jobs.
- Operate desktop and/or copier scanners as needed.
- Operate sign cutters, saws, drills and other sign building equipment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and operation of sign building equipment to ensure efficiency in production.
Quality:
- Maintain superior quality on all individual work.
- Work with team members to ensure superior quality on all jobs produced.
Inventory:
- Monitor sign substrate/material inventory and report to management in timely manner to ensure consistency in production flow and avoid production shutdowns.
End-of-Day Procedures:
- Keep work zone tidy and clutter-free.
- Help lock all doors, cut off lights, take out trash, etc.
General:
- Participate in daily production meetings.
- Work with management to schedule workloads as necessary to meet promised due dates.
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Abide by center policies/procedures as outlined.
- Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of sign industry substrates, media and products a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Professional, upbeat, positive attitude.
- Sharp attention to detail.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Must be comfortable with working on an 8’ ladder.
- Keen multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral team member.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse client/prospect base.
Experience in the following is a definite plus but not mandatory:
- Previous experience in the sign/graphic industry.
- Knowledge of sign/graphic industry substrates, media, and products.
Design software applications:
- Adobe Illustrator – current version
- Adobe Photoshop – current version
- Microsoft Office – current version (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- FlexiSign – current version
- Wide-format printer, vinyl plotter, laminator and/or Onyx RIP operation.
- Color management concepts and procedures.
