SimIS, Inc., an innovative information technology solution Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), is currently seeking a talented, experienced professional with demonstrated experience in the noted position.
This position is REMOTE support
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The UI/UX Designer shall perform (but not be limited to) the following tasks:
• Support product teams by following User Center Design best practices in the software industry
• Engage with end users through the agile product development process.
• Establish feedback loops with customers to Build, Measure, and Learn for product development.
• Conduct heavy research and create mockups of potential features.
• Provide clarification on designs created so developers understand what a user expects from the story completion.
REQUIREMENTS:
• UI/UX industry experience working on complex Web and/or mobile application designs.
• Strong experience in the development of artifacts such as sketches, prototypes, high- fidelity mock-ups, motion design, and project documentation
• Proficient in a variety of design and prototyping tools — Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, or others
• Knowledge and understanding of accessibility standards, interaction and visual design trends and best practices
• Knowledge of Section 508 and W3C WCAG 2.0 guidelines
• Portfolio of work including; flows, wireframes, and visual designs
• Experience working with teams embracing Agile DevSecOps principles
• Strong skills with User Centered Design (UCD) methods
• Able to work with a balanced team approach sharing context and decisions
• Able to work with the Product Manager (PM) to iterate on the backlog
• Flexible with dynamic changes to the product
• Excellent management, communication, and presentation skills
• Experience collaborating with a team of programmers with varying skillsets
• Experience working in a rapid and iterative development environment
• Fluent in English (written and Oral)
• UI Design, UX Design, User Experience Analyst, or Customer-Centered Design Certification
EDUCATION:
• University degree in:
Human Computer Interaction,
Information Science,
Human Factors,
Human Centered Design and Engineering,
OR related discipline
OR 3-5 years’ experience as a UI/UX Designer
Security Classification Required: Valid NATO SECRET or NATIONAL SECRET (or higher) security clearance
